Business Development Manager (Lead Generation) — SMB Catalyst
About SMB Catalyst
SMB Catalyst is a business transformation partner — we unlock the growth
potential locked inside small and mid-sized businesses. We're looking for a
driven Business Development Manager to build our pipeline by connecting
with SMB owners and decision-makers and setting up high-value meetings for
our leadership team.
Role Summary
You own the top of our sales funnel. Your mission is to generate qualified
leads through cold calling, LinkedIn and social outreach, industry forums,
and event participation — and convert them into confirmed, in-person
meetings with business owners and senior decision-makers. You are the
engine that keeps our leadership's calendar full of the right
conversations.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research target SMBs that fit our ideal client profile
(sector, revenue, geography).
- Generate leads through multiple channels: cold calling, LinkedIn and
social media outreach, industry WhatsApp/Telegram and online forums, and
in-person events, expos, and trade-association meets.
- Run high-volume, high-quality outreach to reach business owners and CXOs.
- Qualify prospects against our criteria and book physical discovery
meetings for the leadership/consulting team.
- Represent SMB Catalyst at industry events, association meets, and expos —
network, capture leads, and schedule follow-ups.
- Build and nurture a presence in relevant online communities to warm up
cold prospects.
- Maintain meticulous records of every dial, conversation, and meeting in
the CRM.
- Hit weekly and monthly targets for conversations, qualified meetings
booked, and meetings held.
- Share market feedback and objections with the leadership team to sharpen
our pitch.
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years in B2B business development, inside sales, or lead generation
(consulting, services, SaaS, or selling to SMB owners is a strong plus).
- Proven track record of booking meetings / generating qualified leads —
comfortable with cold calling and high-volume outreach.
- Confident, articulate communicator who can hold a credible conversation
with a business owner.
- Strong on LinkedIn and social outreach; comfortable representing the
brand at events.
- Self-driven, target-obsessed, organized, CRM-disciplined.
- Fluent in [English / Hindi / Gujarati — adjust to your clusters]; willing
to travel locally for events and meetings.
What Success Looks Like (first 90 days)
- Month 1: ICP and outreach lists built, CRM live, ramp on outreach.
- Month 2: Consistently booking 10+ qualified meetings/month.
- Month 3: 8–10 meetings held/month with the leadership team, with a healthy pipeline behind it.
