Business Development Manager - Italy Automotive (IT/Embedded/Engineering Software Services)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager (BDM) to spearhead sales of our IT/embedded/engineering software services in the US automotive sector. The ideal candidate will leverage proven experience in US market penetration, client deal closures, and revenue generation to expand our footprint with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and tech integrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the US automotive industry, focusing on IT/embedded systems, engineering software (e.g., CATIA integrations), and digital transformation projects.
  • Conduct market research, lead generation, and cold outreach via LinkedIn, emails, and industry events to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Travel extensively to the US (at least 30-40% of time) for client meetings, trade shows (e.g., CES, SAE events), and negotiations to close high-value deals.
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycles, from RFP responses to contract signing, ensuring deals align with service offerings in embedded software, AUTOSAR, and automotive cybersecurity.
  • Achieve and exceed annual revenue targets, with a proven track record of handling at least $2M in revenue in a single financial year.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with US-based automotive clients, including Fortune 500 OEMs and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop customized proposals, demos, and POCs that demonstrate value in IT/engineering services.
  • Track sales metrics using CRM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce) and provide regular pipeline updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years in BDM/sales roles within IT/embedded/engineering services, with minimum 5 years focused on the US automotive market.
  • Demonstrated success in traveling to the US for client engagements and closing deals worth $500K+ each.
  • Proven revenue achievement: Handled at least $2M in a single financial year through direct sales.
  • Strong understanding of automotive IT trends (e.g., ADAS, EV software, embedded systems).
  • Excellent communication skills for C-level interactions; experience with US visa/travel logistics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales platforms; basic knowledge of Java or automotive software stacks is a plus.
