Business Development Manager / – Insurance Solutions (APAC & India)

Location: India (Mumbai)

Reporting To: VP – Sales & Strategic Partnerships

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and target-driven Business Development professional to drive new business acquisition across Insurance Carriers, MGA's, Bancassurance Partners, and Insurtech organizations in India and the APAC region.

The role is primarily focused on hunting, lead generation, prospecting, opportunity creation, and supporting the end-to-end sales cycle for Insillion's Digital Insurance Platform, Underwriting Workbench, Workflow Automation, Product Configuration, and AI-led Insurance Solutions.

The ideal candidate should have experience in enterprise software/SaaS sales, insurance technology, digital transformation, or consulting services and possess a strong ability to identify opportunities, engage decision-makers, and build a qualified sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development (60%)

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities across India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, and other APAC markets.
  • Conduct market research to identify target insurance carriers and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive outreach.
  • Execute outbound prospecting activities through LinkedIn, email campaigns, referrals, events, and partner networks.
  • Schedule and qualify meetings with business and technology decision-makers.

Lead Generation & Pipeline Management (20%)

  • Own lead generation targets and opportunity creation targets.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
  • Track account engagement and follow-up activities.
  • Work closely with marketing teams on campaigns, webinars, and industry events.

Pre-Sales Support (15%)

  • Understand customer requirements and qualify opportunities.
  • Coordinate with solution consultants and product teams for demonstrations and workshops.
  • Prepare capability presentations, proposals, RFP responses, and business cases.
  • Support customer meetings, discovery sessions, and solution discussions.

Partnership & Market Development (5%)

  • Engage with consulting firms, system integrators, and strategic partners.
  • Participate in industry conferences and networking events.
  • Build relationships within the insurance ecosystem.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Have

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in B2B Sales, Business Development, Lead Generation, or Enterprise Software Sales.
  • Experience selling SaaS, Insurance Technology, BFSI Solutions, Digital Transformation Solutions, or Enterprise Applications.
  • Strong prospecting and hunting mindset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM tools, and outbound sales platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve monthly and quarterly targets.

Preferred

  • Experience in Insurance, Insurtech, BFSI.
  • Exposure to APAC markets.
  • Experience handling RFPs and enterprise sales opportunities.
  • Understanding of insurance operations, underwriting, claims, policy administration, or distribution systems.
  •  Salary range would be around 5 lacs- 9 Lacs
