Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – In Licensing based in Mumbai to drive portfolio expansion across GCC and Indian pharmaceutical markets. The role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and executing in-licensing opportunities while coordinating closely with regulatory, commercial, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product registration and launch.
The candidate should have strong exposure to GCC and/or Indian pharmaceutical markets, with proven experience in licensing negotiations and dossier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
In-Licensing & Business Development
- Identify and evaluate in-licensing opportunities aligned with company portfolio strategy for GCC and India markets.
- Conduct product evaluation, market feasibility analysis, and commercial assessments.
- Identify and approach potential licensors, manufacturers, and international partners.
- Lead negotiations for licensing agreements including commercial terms, territory rights, and supply conditions.
- Prepare business cases and financial projections for management approval.
Licensing & Dossier Coordination
- Lead end-to-end in-licensing dossier activities including coordination, documentation collection, gap analysis, and submission planning.
- Work closely with internal Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure timely and compliant product registrations across - UAE (MOHAP, DHA, DOH), Saudi Arabia (SFDA), Oman MOH, Qatar MOPH, CDSCO (India)
- Coordinate with partners to obtain required technical documents such as CTD modules, DMFs, FSCs, GMP certificates, and other regulatory requirements.
- Track registration timelines and maintain accurate documentation records.
Commercial & Launch Coordination
- Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams to align licensing strategy with market needs.
- Support pricing strategy and positioning for GCC and Indian markets.
- Ensure regulatory approval timelines align with planned commercial launch.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure readiness for product introduction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a bridge between Business Development, Regulatory, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on licensing pipeline status.
- Support portfolio expansion strategy and long-term growth planning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development with a strong focus on in-licensing.
- Experience handling GCC and/or Indian pharmaceutical markets.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and registration processes in GCC and India.
- Proven experience in licensing negotiations and contract finalization.
