Job Description

A Business Development Manager (BDM) for a hospital drives patient acquisition, revenue growth, and brand visibility by building relationships with physicians, corporates, and insurance providers. They typically handle marketing, referral programs, and corporate tie-ups to increase market share and hospital occupancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Physician Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with referring doctors, specialists, and community health centers to drive referrals.
  • Marketing Strategy: Create and implement strategies to promote hospital services, specialties, and new technologies.
  • Corporate/Insurance Tie-ups: Negotiate and manage relationships with corporate clients and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) for employee health programs.
  • Event Management: Plan and execute continuing medical education (CME) seminars, community health check-up camps, and workshops.
  • Revenue Generation: Identify new opportunities for business expansion, such as launching new services or expanding into new markets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or MBA in Hospital Administration, Marketing, or Healthcare Management.
  • Experience: Generally requires 2–5 years of experience in hospital marketing, pharmaceutical sales, or healthcare business development.
  • Competencies: Strong networking, interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Field Work: Willingness to conduct in-person visits to consultants and corporate offices.
  • Digital Transformation: Integrating hospital IT systems, such as adopting digital prescription platforms and electronic health records.

Service Expansion: Focusing on high-demand areas such as corporate health check-ups and specialized diagnostic services.
