Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with deep expertise in capital markets, structured debt solutions, and investment strategies. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in identifying and onboarding client's corporates seeking capital raise through equity, bonds, or structured debt, and HNIs/Family Offices looking to invest in the company's fund management portfolios.

This is a high-impact role that demands financial acumen, sales strategy, relationship-building skills, and a strong understanding of capital raising instruments and investment structures.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Acquisition & Engagement:

  • Proactively identify and engage with corporates looking to raise capital via equity issuance, bonds, or structured debt instruments.
  • Build and manage relationships with High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), Ultra-HNIs, and Family Offices to promote the company's fund management and investment products.

Deal Origination & Structuring: Collaborate with internal product, legal, and compliance teams to structure customized solutions for clients.

  • Conduct due diligence, evaluate funding needs, and align client requirements with appropriate capital market instruments.

Market Development:

  • Develop business opportunities through networking, cold calling, industry events, investor forums, and referrals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to stay ahead in the financial services landscape.

Client Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring long-term engagement and satisfaction.

  • Regularly follow up with clients and stakeholders, offering market insights and investment updates.

Reporting & Pipeline Management:

  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and report on business development metrics.
  • Work closely with senior management on forecasts, growth strategies, and client feedback.

Travel:

Frequent travel within assigned region and nearby cities for client meetings, presentations, and relationship-building.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • MBA in Finance with a specialization in Sales and Marketing from a reputed institute.

Experience:

  • 510 years of relevant experience in investment banking, capital markets, asset management, or financial advisory.
  • Demonstrated experience in client acquisition, fund raising, debt structuring, or capital markets advisory.

Key Skill Sets:

Financial and Technical:

  • Deep understanding of capital markets instruments equity, convertibles, bonds, structured debt, and fund-based products.
  • Experience with investment vehicles, fund structures, valuation methodologies, and risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with SEBI regulations, debt structuring frameworks, and term sheets.

Sales & Relationship Management:

  • Strong B2B sales expertise in high-ticket financial products.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow HNI/Family Office portfolios.
  • High level of negotiation, presentation, and pitching skills.

Communication & Interpersonal:

  • Excellent command over English and at least one regional/national language.
  • Ability to engage with CXOs, CFOs, promoters, institutional investors, and wealth clients.

Analytical & Strategic Thinking:

  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

Tech & Reporting Tools:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), CRM tools (Salesforce or equivalent).
  • Experience with financial modelling and valuation tools is a plus.
