We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the engineering and solar (EPC) sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project sales cycles, technical/engineering solutions, and renewable energy markets, along with a proven ability to build client relationships and close high-value deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and generate new business leads through market research, networking, cold outreach, and industry events.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets in engineering/solar projects (EPC, O&M, rooftop/ground-mounted solar, industrial engineering solutions, etc.).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, consultants, government bodies, and channel partners.
- Prepare and present technical/commercial proposals, quotations, and bid documents in coordination with the engineering/design team.
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and project timelines with clients to close deals.
- Track industry trends, competitor activity, tenders, and government policies (e.g., solar subsidies, renewable energy mandates) to identify new opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, project execution) to ensure smooth handover of won projects.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions, conferences, and trade shows.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales pipeline in CRM software.
- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis for management review.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil)/Marketing/Sales or related field.
- 3-8 years of experience in business development/sales, preferably in the solar, renewable energy, or engineering/EPC industry.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing large-scale project deals.
- Strong knowledge of solar/engineering products, technologies, and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications (added advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and proposal preparation.
- Strong networking ability with EPC contractors, government agencies, and private clients.
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
- Valid driver's license (if applicable to the role/region).
