Role Overview
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for:
- handling inbound and outbound leads,
- conducting discovery calls,
- understanding client pain points,
- pitching Sqroot's services confidently,
- and converting brands into long-term retained clients.
This is NOT a telecalling role.
We are looking for someone who understands:
- performance marketing,
- D2C ecommerce business models,
- Meta & Google Ads basics,
- agency sales processes,
- and founder-level conversations.
The ideal candidate should be commercially sharp, process-driven, highly disciplined, and hungry to close business consistently.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Management & Sales
- Handle inbound leads from website, referrals, LinkedIn, ads, and outbound efforts
- Conduct discovery and qualification calls with founders and marketing teams
- Understand client business models, revenue goals, pain points, and current marketing challenges
- Pitch Sqroot's performance marketing services confidently and strategically
- Build customized proposals and growth recommendations
- Maintain consistent follow-ups and move leads through the sales pipeline
- Convert qualified leads into retained agency clients
Client Communication
- Build strong trust with founders and decision-makers
- Conduct professional and consultative first sales calls
- Handle objections confidently and strategically
- Maintain high responsiveness and professional communication standards
- Ensure smooth handover from sales to account management team
CRM & Process Discipline
- Maintain accurate CRM updates and lead status tracking
- Ensure timely lead response and follow-up discipline
- Maintain call notes, proposal tracking, and pipeline hygiene
- Submit daily/weekly sales reports and performance updates
Market & Industry Understanding
- Stay updated with D2C ecommerce trends, Meta Ads, Google Ads, and agency ecosystem
- Understand ecommerce metrics such as:
- ROAS
- CAC
- MER
- AOV
- retention
- scaling challenges
- Understand founder pain points and business growth challenges
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
- 1–5 years experience in agency sales / performance marketing sales / D2C sales
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience handling sales calls independently
- Understanding of Meta Ads and Google Ads ecosystem
- Strong follow-up and pipeline management skills
- Ability to build trust with founders and business owners
- Discipline, ownership, and accountability
Preferred
- Experience selling performance marketing or ecommerce services
- Prior agency experience
- Understanding of Shopify and D2C ecommerce ecosystem
- Experience working with ecommerce brands
