About The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented
Business Development Manager Defence to drive business growth in the
Defence and Aerospace sector. The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to
B2B and B2G sales, with a solid understanding of
defence procurement processes, tenders, and key stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, managing end-to-end sales cycles, and building strong relationships with government bodies, defence organizations, and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Defence and Aerospace sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Defence organizations, government departments, PSUs, OEMs, system integrators, and key industry stakeholders.
- Handle end-to-end business development and sales cycles, from lead generation to closure.
- Monitor and evaluate defence procurement opportunities, RFPs, RFQs, tenders, and bidding processes.
- Coordinate with internal teams for proposal preparation, documentation, pricing, and tender submissions.
- Drive B2B and B2G sales initiatives and ensure achievement of revenue and business targets.
- Participate in commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and deal closures.
- Develop strategic account plans for key customers in the defence ecosystem.
- Stay updated on defence procurement policies, market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects.
- Represent the organization at industry events, defence expos, meetings, and networking forums.
- Prepare regular MIS reports, pipeline updates, and business forecasts for management review.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Business Development / Sales.
- Prior experience in Defence / Aerospace industry will be highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of defence procurement processes, tenders, bidding mechanisms, and government sales cycles.
- Experience in B2B and B2G sales is mandatory.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end sales cycles, including prospecting, pitching, negotiations, and closures.
- Strong knowledge of government stakeholders, defence ecosystem, and procurement channels.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive strategic growth initiatives.
- Strong analytical and market research capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and sales reporting.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience working with Defence contractors, OEMs, defence technology providers, aerospace firms, or government procurement projects.
- Existing network with Defence stakeholders, procurement officers, or relevant government bodies will be an added advantage.
- Strong ability to manage long sales cycles and complex stakeholder relationships.
- Target-driven and capable of handling strategic enterprise-level discussions.
Compensation
- CTC: 50,000 70,000 per month (depending on experience and fitment)
