Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Manager based in Coimbatore. The Business Development Manager will identify and qualify new business opportunities, build and manage a strong sales pipeline, and drive revenue growth within assigned regions and segments. Responsibilities include conducting market research, targeting academic institutions and partners, delivering product demos and presentations, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts in alignment with company policies. The role involves collaborating with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align go-to-market activities, gather customer feedback, and support renewals and upselling. The Business Development Manager will also maintain accurate records in the CRM system, track performance against targets, and represent DrillBit at events, webinars, and industry forums as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in business development, B2B sales, and account management, preferably in SaaS, edtech, or software solutions.
- Strong abilities in lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline management, including effective use of CRM tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers at academic institutions and organizations.
- Capability to conduct market research, analyze regional trends, and develop targeted go-to-market strategies for Coimbatore and surrounding regions.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to meet shared business goals.
- Comfort with technology and product demos, with the ability to clearly explain software features, benefits, and use cases.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Experience in the academic, publishing, or education technology sector is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet targets in a fast-paced environment.
