Role Description As a Business Development Manager – A2P SMS (Wholesale) Intern, you will support the growth of Icon Global's A2P SMS wholesale business from the Gurugram office in an on-site role. You will assist in identifying and qualifying potential carrier and enterprise partners, prospecting new leads, and maintaining a structured sales pipeline. The role involves supporting commercial negotiations, preparing proposals and rate sheets, and coordinating with technical and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery. You will help monitor traffic performance, revenue, and margins, and contribute to market and competitor analysis for A2P SMS routes and pricing. This internship role also includes maintaining CRM records, preparing regular business reports, and participating in client calls and internal review meetings under the guidance of senior team members.
Qualifications
- Strong interest in business development and international telecom or messaging services, especially A2P SMS and wholesale markets.
- Ability to research markets, analyze data, and draw insights to support pricing, routing, and partnership decisions.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with global clients and internal stakeholders; strong email and presentation skills.
- Comfort with numbers and basic commercial concepts, including margins, traffic volumes, and revenue tracking.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, CRM tools) and willingness to learn telecom/messaging platforms.
- High level of initiative, reliability, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Prior exposure to telecom, VoIP, SMS, or B2B sales environments through internships, projects, or coursework is an advantage but not mandatory.
