ABOUT FUSIE ENGINEERS

Fusie Engineers is a multi-geography engineering consultancy headquartered in Kochi, with operations across India, the Netherlands, and the UAE. Over the past five years we have grown steadily and aggressively, delivering structural and offshore engineering for international clients across renewables, oil and gas, and heavy civils. The next chapter is a deliberate expansion into full EPC-type project execution and into new geographies worldwide. To support that growth, we are building out our business development capability — and this role is one of the first seats in that team.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Business Development Intern is a 6-month structured entry into the BD function at Fusie. The objective is simple: take a sharp, motivated graduate and develop them into a confident, fully-fledged BD Executive who can identify opportunities and contribute meaningfully to the company's growth plan. This is not a peripheral role. The intern works closely with the BD Lead, the engineering management, and the founders, and contributes directly to live commercial activity from day one — with progressive ownership across the six months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The intern's primary focus is lead generation and client outreach. This is where the role lives, where most of the time is spent, and where performance is measured. Other BD activities are supporting elements the intern participates in as part of broader learning.

  • Identify and qualify potential clients, projects, and tenders across Fusie's target sectors (renewables, oil and gas, heavy civils) and new geographies.
  • Build, segment and maintain structured prospect lists using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other research sources.
  • Draft and send first-touch outreach (email, LinkedIn, occasional cold calls) under the supervision of the BD Lead; iterate on messaging based on response data.
  • Personalise outreach for each prospect: read the company, understand their projects, and pitch Fusie's relevant capabilities credibly.
  • Track every interaction in the CRM and keep the BD pipeline clean, accurate, and reportable.
  • Own the metrics: prospects added, outreach sent, responses, meetings booked, qualified leads handed over. Report on these weekly.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Over the six months, a strong performer will be able to:

  • Run a structured lead-generation and outreach pipeline end to end — from sourcing through qualification, first meeting, and hand-over to the BD Lead for close.
  • Read and discuss technical engineering scopes confidently enough to brief outreach and engage clients credibly — you don't need an engineering degree, you need the curiosity to learn the language of the business.
  • Use CRM, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, and BD analytics tools fluently.

Path after the internship: On successful completion of the six months and demonstrated performance, the intern is converted to Business Development Executive at Fusie Engineers, with compensation revised accordingly and a clear runway into senior BD and account management roles as the company expands.
