A leading infrastructure and construction organization is seeking an experienced Business Development Head with around 15+ years experience to drive strategic growth, project acquisition, government relations, and stakeholder engagement across infrastructure projects. This leadership role requires a strong network within government departments, expertise in business development, and the ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the infrastructure sector, strong relationship management skills, and a proven track record of contributing to organizational growth through successful project acquisition and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and implement business growth strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across infrastructure and construction sectors.
  • Build a sustainable pipeline of projects through market intelligence and strategic networking.
  • Support organizational expansion initiatives and long-term growth plans.

Government & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as the key representative of the organization in interactions with government departments, ministries, regulatory authorities, and administrative bodies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate project development and execution.
  • Coordinate with government agencies and local authorities to resolve project-related matters efficiently.
  • Monitor policy developments and regulatory changes impacting the infrastructure sector.

Project Acquisition & Tender Management

  • Lead project identification, prequalification processes, and tender participation activities.
  • Coordinate with technical, finance, legal, and project teams for proposal preparation and submission.
  • Support contract negotiations and project onboarding activities.
  • Ensure timely documentation, approvals, and compliance requirements for project acquisition.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
  • Strengthen the organization's market presence and reputation within the infrastructure sector.
  • Address client concerns and coordinate with internal stakeholders for effective resolution.

Market Intelligence & Business Analysis

  • Track industry trends, competitor activities, market developments, and emerging opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and business analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and business insights for senior leadership.

Corporate Representation

  • Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, networking events, and business meetings.
  • Support branding, communication, and visibility initiatives to strengthen market positioning.
  • Foster strategic partnerships that contribute to organizational growth.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Engineering MBA or relevant management qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in business development, project acquisition, government liaisoning, or stakeholder management within the infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong network and experience working with government departments and regulatory authorities.
  • Proven track record in identifying and securing infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in tendering, proposal management, and contract coordination.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in infrastructure, transportation, civil construction, urban development, or related sectors.
  • Regional market knowledge and strong government liaisoning experience.
  • Proficiency in Kannada will be an advantage.
  • Experience handling large-scale public sector and government projects.
