Business Development Executive (Full-Time, Paid)

Location: Gurugram, Haryana (3 days/week in office, remaining days hybrid)

Reporting To: Business Development Leader (Anusha Ramananda)

As we scale, we are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Executive who can help expand Purple Bird's presence through strategic partnerships and new revenue channels.

Role Overview

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new partnership opportunities that drive revenue growth for Purple Bird.

This is a sales-focused role that requires strong relationship-building skills, commercial acumen, persistence, and a proactive approach to opening new doors. You will work closely with Anusha and the leadership team to build a scalable partnership pipeline across hospitality, retail, corporate gifting, and other high-potential channels.

The ideal candidate enjoys meeting people, pitching products, negotiating partnerships, and turning conversations into revenue.

Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across multiple channels.
  • Build and manage a strong prospect pipeline from lead generation through closure.
  • Conduct outreach through email, LinkedIn, phone calls, networking events, and in-person meetings.
  • Consistently bring net new revenue opportunities to Purple Bird.
Partnership Sales

Develop partnerships with:

  • Hotels and luxury hospitality brands
  • Restaurants and cafés
  • Boutique retail stores
  • Concept stores and lifestyle retailers
  • Corporate gifting buyers
  • Event and wedding planners
  • Premium office spaces and coworking operators
  • International distributors and retail partners
  • Other strategic channels aligned with Purple Bird's brand positioning
Relationship Management
  • Build long-term relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Present Purple Bird's products and partnership opportunities professionally.
  • Conduct product sampling, demonstrations, and partnership presentations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and support onboarding of new partners.
Sales Operations
  • Maintain CRM and sales tracking systems.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates and sales forecasts.
  • Monitor partnership performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure successful execution.
Market Intelligence
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Identify new categories, channels, and geographies for expansion.
  • Share customer and partner insights with the broader team.
What We're Looking ForRequired
  • 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, account management, or related commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated experience generating and closing new business.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with cold outreach and prospecting.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to travel within India as required.
Preferred
  • Experience selling to hospitality, retail, FMCG, luxury, lifestyle, gifting, food & beverage, or consumer brands.
  • Existing network across hotels, cafés, restaurants, retailers, or corporate procurement teams.
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Passion for premium consumer brands and entrepreneurship.
Success in This Role

In the first 12 months, you will:

  • Build a robust partnership pipeline.
  • Secure new retail, hospitality, and gifting partnerships.
  • Contribute directly to revenue growth.
  • Help establish Purple Bird as a preferred premium gifting and lifestyle partner.
  • Create repeatable business development processes that support scale.
