Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Executive / Business Development Manager 

Location: Andheri East, Mumbai

Job Type: Full-Time

No of years of experience: - Min 8 years to 10 years of experience 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager Govt Business and Sales to lead and manage our sales vertical with a key focus on the Government e-Marketplace (GEM). The ideal candidate will be a hunter with a proven track record of end-to-end sales cycle management, from lead generation to deal closure.

This role involves identifying, engaging, and closing business opportunities within government departments, semi-government organizations (including universities and educational institutions), and public sector enterprises. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strategic relationships, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership by proactively identifying and acquiring new clients in the government and semi-government sector
  • This will be an individual contributor role, focused on a hunting approach to drive new Client acquisition.
  • Hands-on experience and deep knowledge of GEM portal operations and public procurement processes
  • Ability to develop new business opportunities in government departments, PSUs, and educational institutions
  • Drive end-to-end sales through the GEM portal, from prospecting to closure
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision-makers
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve consistent growth targets
  • Stay updated on government procurement policies, competitor activity, and market dynamics
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution and high client satisfaction
  • Track, manage, and report on sales pipeline and performance metrics

Candidate Profile:

In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with the GEM portal.

  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and tendering procedures.
  • Experience in handling techno-commercial bids.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (data handling, reports, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
