About the role

Covai Seenu & Company is looking for a technically strong and commercially driven Business Development Engineer to expand our presence in industrial and manufacturing accounts. This role is suited for someone who can quickly learn technical product details, explain product advantages clearly to customers, conduct demonstrations, build trust with purchase and technical teams, and convert discussions into long-term business.

The role involves extensive fieldwork, regular customer visits, product presentations, follow-up, relationship management, and coordination with internal teams to drive sales growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn the technical features, applications, and competitive advantages of the assigned product range in depth
  • Identify and approach potential industrial customers across relevant sectors
  • Personally visit customer sites, understand requirements, and present suitable product solutions
  • Conduct product demonstrations and technical discussions with customer teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with purchase teams, plant teams, production heads, maintenance teams, and decision-makers
  • Generate leads, develop opportunities, and convert them into sales
  • Follow up consistently with prospects and existing customers until closure
  • Track customer feedback, competitor activity, pricing inputs, and market opportunities
  • Coordinate with internal teams for quotations, samples, technical support, dispatch, and after-sales follow-up
  • Prepare visit reports, pipeline updates, and sales progress reports
  • Support expansion into new territories and key accounts in Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Candidate profile

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required.
  • MBA preferred
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales, B2B sales, business development, or application sales
  • Freshers with strong communication skills, technical understanding, and willingness for field sales may also be considered
  • Strong ability to understand technical products and explain them clearly to customers
  • Confident in customer meetings, product presentations, and field visits
  • Self-driven, disciplined, and comfortable with regular travel
  • Good communication and follow-up skills
  • Familiarity with industrial customers, manufacturing companies, composites, chemicals, adhesives, resins, or related sectors will be an advantage
  • Valid driving license required

Compensation and growth
  • Salary: 30,000 to 50,000 per month depending on experience and capability
