Business Development - Bidding

About the Role

Chalk Theory is looking for an Online Bidder / Business Development Executive to support project acquisition across freelance and consulting platforms, primarily Upwork.

The role will focus on identifying relevant opportunities, preparing tailored proposals, managing applications, and supporting conversations through to closure.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify suitable projects on Upwork and similar platforms
• Review requirements and shortlist opportunities aligned with Chalk Theory's services
• Prepare customised proposals for each opportunity
• Manage bids, responses, and follow-ups
• Coordinate internally for relevant inputs, pricing, and positioning
• Track active opportunities and maintain visibility on progress
• Continuously improve proposal quality based on response and conversion data

Requirements

• Prior experience in Upwork bidding, online bidding, or freelance business development
• Strong written communication and proposal-writing skills
• Ability to understand requirements across consulting, product, strategy, GTM, and marketing projects
• Good judgement in identifying high-potential opportunities
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple active bids
• Previous experience working with agencies or consulting firms is preferred

Engagement Structure

This is a performance-linked opportunity, with compensation tied to projects successfully converted.

The role is best suited for someone with prior bidding experience who is comfortable taking ownership of the opportunity pipeline and contributing directly to new business generation.
