About Rekise Marine

Rekise Marine is building autonomous ships and submarines that operate in the world's most hostile environments. We're executing India's flagship autonomous submarine project- Jalkapi XLAUV awarded under Aditi1.0/ IDEX Project for the Indian Navy. This is an unmanned submarine weighing over 20 tons that can travel 3000+ kilometers autonomously and operate in the ocean for 30+ days at a time.

We're working on numerous projects with MoD/Indian Navy, DRDO, PSU shipyards and other industry partners and creating variety of marine autonomous robots, indigenously, with our in-house software, with direct impact on national security.

The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Associate who can think like an engineer and sell like a strategist. This is not a conventional sales role, you will be expected to deeply understand our technology stack, articulate complex capabilities to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and drive the entire BD lifecycle from lead identification through deal closure. You will report directly to the Founder and operate with significant autonomy and ownership. You will be based at Bangalore and require travelling as per job requirement.

We seek someone who independently solves challenges, ensures execution, and takes complete ownership in pushing the company's objective in Business Development domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end BD engine market research, lead gen, outreach, proposals, negotiation, and deal closure. The whole thing is yours.
  • Build a deep understanding of our tech stack (robotics, autonomous systems, defence platforms) and translate it into value propositions that land with technical and non-technical buyers.
  • Hunt and qualify opportunities across defence, shipping, ports, government, and industrial sectors, tenders (RFPs/RFIs/EOIs), partnerships, and direct engagements.
  • Build business relationships with clients, procurement teams, and decision-makers in target organizations.
  • Organize participation of Rekise in Expos- right from setting of stall, organize publicity material, to representation at defence / marine expos, industry conferences, trade shows, and demo events. Deliver product presentations and live demos that leave an impression.
  • Work together with engineering and product team and provide feedback on market intelligence and shape what we build next.
  • Prepare proposals, exhibition material, pitch decks, techno-commercial documents, and compliance paperwork that meet client and tender requirements-
  • Track pipeline, maintain CRM discipline, and give the Founder clear, data-backed updates on BD metrics, forecasts, and strategic calls.
  • Scout strategic partnerships and channel opportunities that accelerate our go-to-market and revenue growth.
  • Operate with high agency, take initiative, solve problems on the fly, and drive outcomes without waiting for permission.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years in BD, sales, or strategic partnerships preferably in defence, Ship building, robotics, or deep-tech.
  • B.E. / BTech in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, IT or similar). MBA is a strong plus but not a dealbreaker.
  • You can understand and talk technology fluently comfortably discussing specs, system architectures, and product capabilities with engineers and clients, Data analytics abilities.
  • Strong communication chops you write sharp proposals and deliver confident presentations.
  • Self-starter DNA with a bias for action and high ownership. You thrive in ambiguity and don't need handholding.
  • Willing to travel for client meetings, site visits, and events.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience selling to the Indian Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence/ shipping/ Shipyards, or allied agencies. Or Product managers role for a engineering product in a Start-up/ Industry.
  • Background in unmanned systems, autonomous vehicles, marine/naval tech, or AI/ML products.
  • An existing network in the defence / Naval ship building ecosystem in India.
  • Familiarity with Make in India / iDEX or similar defence innovation programmes
  • You've worked in an early-stage startup and know what that pace looks like.
