Alt Homes was founded by two curious travellers turned hosts who started enjoying hosting to the extent that they decided to make a living out of it. We are currently present in Naukuchiatal, Bhimtal and Jungaliyagaon in Uttarakhand and Ooty in Tamil Nadu. We are now constantly looking to expand to new locations and integrate more homes and stories that resonate with our ethos. 

About the Role

We are looking for a sharp, self-driven Manager to lead our Business Development & Operations function in North India.

You will drive regional supply expansion while ensuring that every home in our portfolio runs smoothly and every homeowner stays aligned. Working closely with the founders and cross-functional teams, you will own the full lifecycle from property identification through to onboarding, operations oversight, and ongoing homeowner management.

Responsibilities

A more structured scope of work is given below:

Business Development & Acquisition

  • Build your own BD channels from scratch through your network, field outreach, local brokers, owner communities, and any other sources you develop.
  • Identify and partner with homes and hosts that align with Alt Homes vision and quality standards.
  • Scout emerging markets and monitor competitors to inform our regional expansion strategy.
  • Develop revenue projections for prospective partners and present business cases to potential property owners.
  • Negotiate and close partnership agreements independently.
  • Design and own your lead management system including pipeline structure, follow-up cadence, and progress reporting built entirely by you from day one.
  • Target: 1 signed property per month. This is the single metric your basic compensation is tied to. Variables will kick in above and beyond this target. 

Operations Oversight

  • Oversee day-to-day operational performance of all properties in the company's portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve escalations and drive operational improvements.
  • Establish, test out, monitor and revise SOPs for new property integration.
  • Track key metrics such as occupancy, guest satisfaction, grievance turnaround etc. and report to the founders.

Homeowner Relations & Retention

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all homeowners in our portfolio.
  • Conduct regular reviews with homeowners, sharing performance data and plans (post approval from the founders) transparently.
  • Address homeowner concerns proactively and coordinate with internal teams for swift resolution.
  • Identify at-risk homeowner relationships early and implement retention strategies.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–5 years in business development, partner acquisition, or property onboarding. Hospitality industry experience is mandatory.
  • Direct, hands-on experience onboarding homestay or villa inventory. You should be able to describe exactly how you sourced and closed your last 3 properties.
  • A track record of building your own lead sources i.e. not relying on company-generated inbound or inherited pipelines and bringing your own independent lead generation systems.
  • Experience designing your own lead tracking system from scratch.

Skills

  • Excellent communication in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong command of MS Excel/Google Sheets for tracking, projections, and reporting.
  • Solid analytical skills- comfortable with creating P&Ls of different regions on the go by turning occupancy data and market trends into actionable decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and stakeholders simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • A keen eye for detail, aesthetics, and the finer nuances of hospitality.
