Business Controller & Finance Operations Lead

IZI is a fast-growing consumer electronics and technology brand headquartered in Bhopal. We sell across Ecommerce (Amazon, Flipkart), D2C, offline distribution, and government/tender channels. This is a senior finance hire who owns business numbers and drives decisions.
About the Role
You will own the MIS, revenue control, commercial discipline, working capital, and operational finance across the business. This is not a reporting role — you use numbers to hold the business accountable and drive action.
Responsibilities
MIS and Business Intelligence
- Build and own weekly and monthly MIS covering revenue, spend, and profitability across all channels and SKUs
- Track CAC, LTV, CM1, CM2 at channel and SKU level
- Lead weekly financial reviews — revenue, spend, and profitability — with data prepared and actions proposed
- Push corrective action across Ecommerce, Sales, Procurement, and Operations based on MIS findings
Revenue and Commercial Control
- Monitor revenue across Ecommerce, D2C, Offline, and Tender — weekly, channel-wise, SKU-wise
- Own the price control register — approved price vs actual, deviations, and reasons
- Flag margin leakage and pricing deviations immediately
- Approve discounts and schemes within delegated limits
- Own sales finance for all channels — PO tracking, COGS reconciliation, payment recovery
Spend and Marketing Control
- Track all marketing and ad spends by channel — budget vs actual, weekly
- Flag overruns with recommendations, not just reports
- Hold marketing accountable to ROI and margin structures
Working Capital and Debt Capital
- Track DSO, DIO, DPO, and cash conversion cycle weekly
- Prepare weekly cash flow report for management
- Support CC/OD structuring, NBFC working capital instruments, and CMA preparation if you have experience in this area
Procurement and Inventory
- Validate PO financials before commitment
- Plan payment requirements and fund availability for procurement cycles
- Identify slow-moving and dead stock and propose liquidation strategies
Reconciliations and Controls
- Own vendor, marketplace, and distributor reconciliations
- Track GRN vs invoice mismatches and marketplace deductions
- Maintain credit control — distributor aging, limit enforcement, collection tracking
Requirements
- 3 to 8 years in operational or business finance
- Strong hands-on MIS experience — built and owned independently, not managed through a team
- Understanding of channel economics — ecommerce, distribution, or consumer goods background
- Advanced Excel
- Ability to drive cross-functional accountability through financial data
- On-site in Bhopal, full-time
Good to Have
- Ecommerce finance experience — Amazon or Flipkart P&L, ad spend control, COGS reconciliation
- Experience with debt capital instruments — CC/OD, NBFC working capital loans, channel financing
- FMCG, trading, or import business background
