Role Overview
As a Business Bidder, you will be responsible for generating high-quality leads and closing deals in the IT services and solutions space. You'll leverage multiple channels — including Upwork, Freelancer.com, LinkedIn, email outreach, and networking — to identify, engage, and convert prospects. Your role will span the full sales cycle: from prospecting and proposal writing to client onboarding and post-sale relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue business opportunities through bidding platforms (e.g., Upwork, Freelancer), LinkedIn, email campaigns, and referrals
- Research, qualify, and prioritize leads based on market potential and alignment with service offerings
- Write compelling, customized proposals and pitches tailored to client needs and project scope
- Conduct discovery calls/meetings with prospects and clients to understand requirements and position solutions
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess feasibility, scope, and pricing for proposed projects
- Negotiate contracts, close deals, and ensure smooth handover to delivery teams
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities in CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho)
- Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly targets for leads generated, proposals submitted, and deals closed
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to enhance value proposition
- Foster long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field
- 1–4 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or account acquisition — preferably in IT services, software development, or SaaS
- Proven track record of successful bidding and proposal writing (experience with Upwork, Freelancer, or similar platforms is a plus)
- Strong understanding of web development, mobile apps, SaaS, AI, and digital transformation services
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills — especially with international clients
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, GoHighLevel) and sales enablement tools
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Experience working with global (especially US/EU/UK) clients is highly desirable
