About The Role
The Business Analyst in the Collections team will play a critical role in driving data-backed decision-making for the collections function. This role involves translating business problems into analytical solutions, building scalable data processes, and delivering actionable insights to improve collections performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Problem Solving & Requirement Translation
- Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into clear analytical requirements.
- Define structured analytical approaches and validate them with stakeholders.
- Develop use cases and standardized outputs aligned with collections objectives.
- Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Work with large and diverse datasets to generate actionable insights for collections strategy.
- Perform deep-dive analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvementopportunities.
- Ensure high standards of accuracy, consistency, and data integrity in all outputs.
- Data Extraction & Query Optimization
- Write efficient queries (SQL) to extract and manipulate data with minimal post-processing.
- Utilize advanced querying techniques (e.g., joins, window functions) for robust analysis.
- Pull and triangulate data from multiple sources to ensure data reliability and consistency.
- Reporting & Automation
- Build and scale dashboards, reports, and data pipelines for collections performance tracking.
- Develop self-serve reporting solutions that stakeholders can easily use and update.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to automate recurring reports and processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Collections, Operations, Product, and Tech teams to understand requirements.
- Proactively engage stakeholders to refine problem statements and deliver impactful insights.
- Communicate findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
- Project & Timeline Management
- Independently manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate effectively within the team to ensure smooth execution of analytics projects.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying techniques
Preferred Experience
- 0-2 years of experience in Business Analytics / Data Analytics roles
- Experience in NBFC, Banking, Fintech, or related domains preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related field
- Ability to work with large datasets and multiple data sources
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Basic understanding of collections or lending business (preferred)
