Business Analyst

Role: Senior Business System Analyst (Property & Casualty Insurance Domain)

Experience Level: 4+ Years

Work location: Mumbai or Bangalore

Role & Responsibilities:

● Comes with deep BFSI expertise and is open to learning into other industries simultaneously.

● Documents the detailed business requirements and functional specifications.

● Ensures that requirements align with business goals and regulatory standards.

● Helps in identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements in BFSI engagements.

● Competent in data analysis and presentation using a variety of software platforms, including Power BI, Excel, Snowflake, etc.

● Collaborates with data engineers and architects to define data models and ensure data quality.

● Participates in data mapping exercises to understand data flows and relationships.

● Develops and maintains data dictionaries and metadata documentation.

● Conducts user acceptance testing (UAT) for the projects.

Skills Required:

● 4+ years of consulting/BA experience, with a focus on data projects

● Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft/Google Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

● Competent with JIRA, Microsoft Visio and other project management tools for managing and documenting business needs.

● Strong knowledge of Agile methodology, sprint planning, product backlog grooming, story estimations, etc.

● Well-developed industry expertise in the property and casualty domain.

● Working experience or understanding of local and international regulations in the BFSI sector.

● Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.

● Experience in data modelling techniques (e.g., relational, dimensional)

● Strong understanding of data quality principles and best practices

● Ability to lead a team with a sound work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and exceptional client service

● Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts

● Knowledge of the insurance domain
