Business Analyst - Insurance Transaction ManagementPosition OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in Insurance Transaction Management to join our growing team. This role will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex insurance processes into clear, actionable requirements for our claims automation and fraud detection platform.
You will play a critical role in understanding insurance workflows, documenting business requirements, and ensuring our solutions align with evolving industry needs.

Key Responsibilities1. Requirements Management & Analysis
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from insurers, TPAs, hospitals, and other stakeholders
- Analyze insurance transaction workflows: policy issuance, claims processing, premium collection, and settlements
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for product and engineering teams
- Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, and user stories
- Facilitate requirement discussions, reviews, and stakeholder sign-offs
- Define acceptance criteria for features and releases
2. Insurance Domain Expertise
- Apply strong understanding of the insurance transaction lifecycle, including:
- Policy administration and underwriting
- Claims registration, adjudication, and settlement
- Reimbursement and cashless workflows
- TPA operations and provider network management
- Premium accounting and reconciliation
- Fraud detection and investigation processes
- Document integration requirements across core insurance systems, hospital systems, and TPA platforms
- Ensure alignment with IRDAI regulations and industry standards
- Assess impact of regulatory changes on processes and systems
3. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary interface between business, operations, and technology teams
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation of business processes and system workflows
- Create functional specifications, user documentation, and business rules
- Develop data dictionaries and requirement repositories
- Provide structured analysis reports and insights to leadership
- Track and communicate progress on requirements and deliverables
Required QualificationsEducational Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Technology, or related field
- MBA (Operations / Finance / IT) preferred
Certifications (Preferred)- Business Analysis: CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA
- Insurance: LOMA, FLMI, or equivalent
- Agile: CSPO or similar
Domain Experience (Must-Have)- 4–6 years in the insurance industry with hands-on experience in:
- Transaction management (policy, claims, accounting)
- Health or general insurance (retail and group)
- TPA operations and workflows
- End-to-end claims lifecycle
- Provider networks, hospital integrations, and pre-authorization
- Experience working with core insurance systems (policy admin / claims platforms)
- Exposure to insurance technology and digital transformation initiatives
- Strong understanding of IRDAI guidelines and schemes like PMJAY
Technical Understanding- Good understanding of SDLC
- Familiarity with APIs and web services (REST/SOAP)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus
- Basic understanding of databases and data models
- Awareness of AI/ML in fraud detection (desirable, not mandatory)
- Familiarity with OCR and document automation tools is a plus
