Job Description:
- Work closely with business users, product owners, solution architects, developers, and testing teams to translate business needs into clear and implementable functional requirements.
- Responsible for understanding business processes, analysing requirements, identifying gaps and dependencies, and producing functional specifications that guide solution design, development, testing, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
- Engage business stakeholders and users to understand business objectives, processes, pain points, and requirements.
- Facilitate requirements gathering, clarification, and grooming workshops.
- Analyse high-level business requirements, service journeys, user stories, and existing processes.
- Break down high-level requirements into detailed functional requirements and system behaviours.
- Identify requirement gaps, ambiguities, assumptions, dependencies, and business rules.
- Maintain requirements traceability from business requirements through design, development, and testing.
Business Process & Functional Design:
- Analyse and document current-state and future-state business processes.
- Develop process flows, use cases, user journeys, functional flows, and system interaction diagrams.
- Define business rules, decision logic, validations, exception handling, and processing scenarios.
- Work with solution architects and technical teams to ensure functional requirements can be translated into appropriate technical solutions.
- Prepare and maintain Functional Design Specifications (FDS) or equivalent functional documentation.
User Stories & Acceptance Criteria:
- Develop and refine epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria where applicable.
- Ensure requirements are sufficiently detailed and testable before development.
- Support estimation and planning by clarifying functional scope and dependencies.
- Work with developers and testers during implementation to address requirement clarifications.
Integration & Data Requirements:
- Define system interface and integration requirements with relevant teams.
- Analyse input/output data requirements, field mappings, validations, and processing rules.
- Support interface specification reviews and identify upstream/downstream dependencies.
- Clarify API, batch, file, or system integration behaviours from a functional perspective.
Testing & Implementation Support:
- Support QA and UAT teams in developing test scenarios and ensuring requirement coverage.
- Review test cases against functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support defect triage and determine whether issues are defects, requirement gaps, or change requests.
- Provide functional clarification during SIT and UAT.
- Support implementation readiness, cutover, and post-production validation where required.
Stakeholder & Documentation Management:
- Act as the functional bridge between business and technology teams.
- Manage requirement clarifications, decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and open issues.
- Coordinate with business users, technical teams, external systems, and vendors.
- Ensure functional documentation remains current throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support requirements walkthroughs, design reviews, and stakeholder sign-offs.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience.
- 1 month completion/performance bonus provided.
- Onsite working arrangement.
- Security clearance can be done in parallel to onboarding.
- Budgeted bill rate up to $6,500 monthly.
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, System Analyst, or similar role in IT system implementation projects.
- Strong requirements elicitation and analysis skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications.
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience documenting business and functional requirements, process flows, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and interface requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with business users, architects, developers, testers, and project managers.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with large-scale enterprise or government system implementation.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience with BPMN, UML, or other process modelling techniques.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, databases, and data mapping.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, production implementation, and defect management.
