Job Purpose

The Pre-Sales Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the sales function by leading requirement discovery, solution conceptualization, proposal preparation, and client interactions during the pre-sales cycle. The role plays a key part in converting opportunities into wins by ensuring clear understanding of client needs, feasible solutions, and value-driven proposals.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KRAs

  • Pre-Sales Requirement Analysis & Solutioning
  • Lead and contribute to requirement discovery sessions with prospective clients
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into high-level functional and technical solutions
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design feasible, scalable, and cost-effective solutions
  • Proposal & Documentation Support
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, estimations, scope documents, and RFP/RFI responses
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment of proposals with client expectations and company offerings
  • Support creation of case studies, pitch decks, and solution narratives
  • Client Interaction & Sales Enablement
  • Actively participate in client calls, demos, and presentations during the pre-sales phase
  • Support sales teams in articulating solution value, timelines, and delivery approach
  • Address client queries, assumptions, and concerns to improve win probability
  • Estimation & Risk Assessment (Weightage 10%)
  • Work with delivery and technical teams to prepare effort, cost, and timeline estimates
  • Identify risks, assumptions, and dependencies early in the sales cycle
  • Ensure scope clarity to minimize post-sales delivery risks
  • Organization Initiatives
  • Participate in organizational initiatives, knowledge repositories, and pre-sales process improvements
  • Support standardization of templates, best practices, and solution frameworks
  • Personal Development
  • Enhance skills in domain knowledge, solution consulting, and communication
  • Participate in internal trainings, certifications, and continuous learning initiatives

The incumbent is expected to lead and contribute to winning new business by delivering strong solution narratives, accurate estimations, and compelling proposals that meet and exceed client expectations, thereby improving conversion ratios and overall sales effectiveness.

Qualifications And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 4-5 years of experience in a Pre-Sales / Business Analyst / Solution Consulting role
  • Strong exposure to IT services, custom software development, and client-facing environments
  • Experience working with global clients and sales teams is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of pre-sales lifecycle, RFP/RFI handling, and solution design
  • Excellent requirement analysis, estimation, and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and collaboration tools
