Senior Business Analyst – Core Banking
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong Islamic Banking domain knowledge to support core banking transformation initiatives. The role will focus on business analysis across Sharia‑compliant products and processes, working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors. Experience with Flexcube and exposure to Finacle, particularly in migration or transformation programmes, will be a strong value add.
The successful candidate will play a key role in requirement definition, solution design, and ensuring business outcomes are met across complex core banking initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead end‑to‑end business analysis activities across Islamic banking products and services.
- Engage with business stakeholders, product owners, Sharia teams, operations, and IT to elicit, analyse, and document requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, and design discussions to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring business intent is accurately translated into system requirements.
Core Banking & Domain Expertise
- Provide functional expertise across Islamic banking concepts including Murabaha, Ijarah, Mudarabah, Wakalah, Tawarruq, and profit calculation mechanisms.
- Analyse and document As‑Is and To‑Be business processes for core banking platforms.
- Support core banking initiatives involving Flexcube and/or Finacle, including enhancements, upgrades, or migrations.
- Contribute to impact assessments, gap analysis, and solution options for core banking changes.
Migration & Transformation Support
- Support data, product, and process migration activities from Flexcube to Finacle (where applicable).
- Define business rules, mapping logic, and validation requirements for migration initiatives.
- Work closely with testing teams to ensure functional coverage, business scenarios, and regulatory compliance are addressed.
- Assist in UAT planning, execution support, and defect triage from a business perspective.
Documentation & Governance
- Produce high‑quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, process flows, and use cases.
- Ensure requirements are traceable throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support governance forums, steering committees, and status reporting as required.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory, compliance, and Sharia governance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- 7–10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong hands‑on experience in Islamic Banking products and processes.
- Proven experience working on core banking systems, preferably Flexcube.
- Excellent requirement elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including senior stakeholders.
- Experience working across full project lifecycle (requirements through UAT/support).
Value Add / Preferred
- Experience or exposure to Flexcube to Finacle migration or Finacle implementation programmes.
- Understanding of Finacle product architecture
- Prior involvement in large‑scale core banking transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Technical background or strong understanding of system integrations and data flows.
