About the RoleWe are looking for a Business Analyst who can convert business data into actionable insights and help leadership make faster, data-backed decisions.
The role will work closely with Growth, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, NPD and Aggregator teams to track business performance, identify gaps, build dashboards, and drive improvement initiatives.
This is not a pure reporting role. The candidate should be comfortable going beyond data collection — understanding the business problem, identifying the root cause, and recommending what should be done next.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Performance & MIS● Build and maintain daily, weekly and monthly business performance dashboards.
● Track key business KPIs across brands, cities, outlets and channels.
● Prepare regular MIS and management reports with clear business commentary.
● Monitor Revenue, Orders, AOV, Growth %, Contribution, Discounts, Ads, Commission and other key business metrics.
● Identify deviations from targets and highlight areas requiring immediate action.
● Create automated and scalable reporting formats wherever possible.
2. Growth & Aggregator Analytics● Analyse performance across Swiggy, Zomato, Ownly and other channels.
● Track brand, city, outlet and RID-level performance.
● Analyse impressions, conversion, orders, AOV, visibility, discounts, advertisements and ROI.
● Identify reasons for growth/decline and recommend corrective actions.
● Track new outlet/RID performance and maturity curves.
● Monitor channel-wise contribution and identify opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.
● Evaluate campaign, promotion and visibility performance.
3. Business Insights & Decision Support● Convert large datasets into clear and actionable business insights.
● Perform root-cause analysis for business performance gaps.
● Build analytical frameworks for decision-making.
● Develop business cases for new initiatives, products, markets and investments.
● Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities before they become business issues.
● Present insights to senior leadership in a simple, decision-oriented manner.
4. Cost & Profitability Analytics- Track key cost drivers including:
- Food Cost
- Packaging Cost
- Discounts
- Advertising
- Commission
- Delivery/Logistics Cost
- Other operating costs
- Analyse outlet, brand and channel-level profitability.
- Identify areas of excessive burn and recommend opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Support teams in improving revenue without disproportionately increasing discounts or marketing spends.
● Track outlet-level KPIs such as:
○ Sales
○ Orders
○ AOV
○ OOS %
○ Cancellation %
○ Rating
○ KPT
○ MFR
○ Poor-rated orders
○ Outlet productivity
● Identify underperforming outlets and categories.
● Build exception-based reports to help Operations teams focus on critical issues.
● Analyse operational trends and quantify their impact on revenue and customer experience.
6. Procurement & Supply Analytics● Work with Procurement and Supply teams to analyse:
○ Purchase price movements
○ Vendor performance
○ Consumption
○ Inventory
○ DOH
○ OOS
○ Purchase variance
○ Wastage
○ GRN data
● Identify procurement cost-saving opportunities.
● Track vendor performance and pricing trends.
● Build data-backed recommendations for vendor negotiations and alternate sourcing.
● Support demand and purchase planning through historical and current consumption data.
7. Dashboard & Automation● Develop dashboards using Advanced Excel / Google Sheets / Power BI / Tableau / similar BI tools.
● Automate repetitive MIS and reporting processes.
● Establish a single source of truth for critical business metrics.
● Improve data accuracy and reduce manual reporting dependency.
● Build drill-down dashboards that allow leadership to move from overall business performance to city, brand, outlet and SKU-level insights.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration● Work closely with Growth, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain and NPD teams.
● Understand the business requirement before building reports.
● Challenge data and assumptions when required.
● Ensure insights are translated into measurable actions.
● Follow up on action items and track whether recommendations delivered the expected impact.

● Strong knowledge of Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, data cleaning and analysis
● Strong understanding of data visualisation
● Power BI / Tableau preferred
● SQL knowledge preferred
● Experience with large datasets
● Good understanding of MIS and dashboard creation

Preferred BackgroundCandidates from QSR, cloud kitchens, food-tech, e-commerce, FMCG, retail, consumer-tech, hospitality or marketplace businesses will be preferred.
Experience working with Swiggy, Zomato, marketplace/aggregator data, outlet-level business data or multi-city operations will be an advantage.
Education● Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics or a related field.
● MBA / PGDM preferred but not mandatory.
