Role Overview
The Business Analyst plays a key leadership role within the team, overseeing complex corporate actions processes, mentoring junior staff, driving improvements, and acting as a primary point of contact for escalations and cross-departmental initiatives. This position demands strong expertise in corporate actions, process optimization skills, and the capacity to influence improvements in data quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end process for capturing, validating, and processing global corporate actions events (including but not limited to mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, dividends, splits, tender offers, and rights issues).
- Oversee and review work performed by junior specialists, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure data quality standards are maintained.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and QA teams to drive process optimization, automation initiatives, and workflow enhancements.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex data discrepancies, client inquiries, and high-impact events, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
- Analyze market/regulatory changes and their impacts, updating procedures and ensuring compliance.
- Develop and maintain documentation of best practices, process guidelines, and workflow changes.
- Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and participate in system development projects, providing subject matter expertise.
- Liaise with global stakeholders, including clients, exchanges, and internal teams, regarding corporate actions-related matters.
- Monitor KPIs and proactively report on quality metrics, operational risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support management in strategic planning and resource allocation.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate actions, financial operations, market data, or a similar role, preferably within a data provider, bank, or asset manager.
- Deep understanding of global corporate actions lifecycles, market practices, and regulatory impacts.
- Experience with automation, process optimization, and workflow design preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., SWIFT messaging, ISO formats) and corporate actions systems/tools.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills; prior experience supervising or training team members is highly desirable.
- Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to influence stakeholders and present findings.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with databases, analytics, or workflow management tools.
- Proven track record working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

- Knowledge of FactSet platforms and products.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA, CASS, Six Sigma).
- Multilingual proficiency.
- Project management or business analysis experience.
