Location: Pune - Hybrid-Working: 3 days in office, 2 days from home.

We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Business Analyst - Data & Reporting to help shape the future of our data and reporting capabilities at APEXX. You'll play a key role in defining, designing, and delivering scalable data integrations and reporting solutions, helping our merchants gain clear, reliable, and timely insight into their payments performance.

Working at the intersection of Product, Data, and Engineering, you'll take ownership of analysis end-to-end from integrating acquirers and gateways for payments processing, through to ingesting inbound data files and building standardised, automated reports for merchants.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Build a deep understanding of APEXX's payment flows, data structures, and reporting ecosystem.
• Lead the analysis, definition, and documentation of business and technical requirements across new integrations, data ingestion, and reporting initiatives.
• Partner with engineers, data specialists, and product managers to deliver scalable and reliable data solutions.
• Drive standardisation of reporting capabilities, including common dashboards, KPIs, and data definitions across merchants and internal users.
• Develop and maintain design documentation such as Interface Specifications, Data Dictionaries, and Reporting Specifications, along with data flow and process diagrams.
• Work with the Data team to shape a robust and extensible data platform for ingestion, processing, and visualisation.
• Use SQL and analytical tools to validate data quality, investigate anomalies, and support insight generation.
• Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical processes, tooling, and documentation standards.

ABOUT YOU:

• Solid experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within payments, fintech, or another data-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of data management, integration, and warehousing principles.
• Confident in translating business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Skilled in SQL and comfortable working directly with data for validation and analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, and commercial teams.
• A product mindset, with experience contributing to the design and rollout of scalable data or reporting capabilities.
• Organised, methodical, and proactive able to manage multiple priorities and drive work through to completion.
• Curious, analytical, and eager to shape how data informs decision-making and customer value.
