Job Summary

The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technology team. They are responsible for assessing business needs, documenting requirements, and ensuring that IT solutions meet these requirements. This role requires a blend of business acumen and technical knowledge, as the analyst must understand both the operational needs of the business and the capabilities of technology. They also play a key role in system testing, user training, and the implementation of new systems.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead and manage project teams to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Develop project plans and schedules
  • Monitor and track project progress and report to stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate project risks

Business Analysis

  • Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand business needs
  • Document business requirements and create functional specifications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and validate solutions
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and ensure successful implementation

System Analysis and Design

  • Evaluate existing systems and identify areas for improvement
  • Design and implement new systems to meet business needs
  • Develop system requirements and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure solutions align with technical architecture and standards

Data Analysis

  • Analyze and interpret data to support decision-making and identify trends
  • Develop data models and perform data mapping
  • Ensure data integrity and quality through data validation and cleansing
  • Identify opportunities for data driven insights and recommendations

Change Management

  • Identify potential impacts of changes and develop change management plans
  • Communicate changes to stakeholders and manage expectations
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change management efforts
  • Provide support and training to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve conflicts and escalate issues as needed
  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to continuously improve processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 2 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools such as SQL, Excel, and specialized software relevant to the business.
  • Experience with ERP systems, CRM software, or other business management platforms.
  • Experience with business process reengineering and requirements gathering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise between stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to oversee projects from conception to implementation.
