Job Description
Business Analyst JD Position: Business Analyst Experience Required: 5-6 years Role Summary The Mid Level Business Analyst will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams. You will gather, analyses, document, validate and deliver business requirements, ensure that business needs are translated into technical solutions, and drive projects from ideation through to implementation and post-deployment. The role involves deep domain understanding, strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and the ability to lead and mentor others. Key Responsibilities Work with various business stakeholders (product, operations, finance, sales, etc.) to elicit, analyses and priorities business requirements. Document requirements in clear, structured artefacts such as BRDs (Business Requirement Documents), FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flow diagrams, workflows, mockups/wireframes. Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications and ensure alignment with technical teams. Create process maps and perform as-is / to-be analyses; identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements. Perform data analysis to extract insights and support decision making; use tools like Excel, SQL, BI / visualization tools as needed. Prepare test plans, help with QA / UAT (User Acceptance Testing), ensure that features meet business expectations and requirements. Lead or coordinate with cross-functional teams including tech, UX, QA, operations, etc. for smooth project delivery. Maintain and update project documentation, ensure traceability of requirements through delivery. Assist in change management: managing scope, handling change requests, communicating impacts. Present findings, solutions, and status reports to senior management. Mentor or guide more junior BAs; help improve team standards and practices. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business / Commerce / Engineering / Information Technology or related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus. 5-6 years of relevant business analysis / systems analysis / product analysis experience. Strong experience across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ideally with exposure to Agile / Scrum / Waterfall methodologies. Excellent skills in requirement gathering, documentation (BRD, FRD, user stories, acceptance criteria). Strong analytical skills including working with large data sets, understanding business metrics / KPIs. Proficiency in tools like MS Excel (advanced functions), SQL, data visualization / BI tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.). Good understanding of UI/UX wireframes, process flows; ability to validate designs / mockups. Good problem solving, critical thinking, ability to foresee risks / issues. Excellent communication (verbal & written), stakeholder management, ability to negotiate and manage expectations. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Desired / Optional Experience in domain [insert domain e.g. FinTech / E-commerce / Telecom] will be advantageous. Prior experience in enterprise software or product companies. Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, UML / BPMN, Visio etc. Certification in Business Analysis (e.g. CBAP, PMI-PBA) is a plus. Experience in change management or process optimization programs.
