Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-driven R&D Controller to manage both Global and Local R&D Controlling functions. This role involves controlling actuals, forecasting, and budgeting for R&D projects, along with cost center planning and financial analysis. You will also support logistics, sales order processing, and vendor-related transactions while driving digital transformation through data-driven insights and reporting tools. The ideal candidate brings a strong finance background, proficiency in SAP, and the ability to coordinate across global and local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Global R&D Controlling
- Manage actuals, forecasts, and budget planning for global R&D projects (status, product cost, and EVA tracking).
- Handle cost center planning, allocations (hour-based), monthly cost analysis, and performance tracking.
- Coordinate with local R&D leaders to provide a consolidated R&D cost and headcount overview (ACT/FC/BDG).
- Ensure transparency around budget changes, financial impacts, and associated corrective measures.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance controlling efficiency and transparency.
- Perform EVA (Economic Value Added) calculations and monitor project-level target costs.
- Act as a finance business partner to technical teams.
Local R&D Controlling
- Independently manage profitability analyses and forecast presentations to local management.
- Handle logistics-related tasks including STO, Export FOC testing, and GR Waiver closures.
- Manage sales order creation and invoice processing in SAP.
- Perform month-end closing tasks such as provisions, corrections, and workflow management.
- Review balance sheet items, clear aged entries, and track P&L for cost accuracy.
- Engage with internal business units and headquarters for reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Monitor internal controls and meet audit deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Work with dashboard tools and monitor metrics such as GR/IR, Webcycles, and Goods in Transit (GIT).
- Exposure to factory costing is considered an added advantage.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education:
- UG: B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization
- PG: Any Postgraduate
- Experience:
- Postgraduate with 67 years OR Graduate with over 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in factory environments and vendor management preferred
- Technical Proficiency:
- SAP (essential), MS Excel (advanced), PowerPoint
- Power BI or similar digital tools (preferred)
- Soft Skills:
- Strong team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and ability to perform under pressure
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in cross-cultural teams
- Proficiency in English is mandatory
