Forward-Deployed Broadcast / Streaming Engineer (Remote – India)

Role Overview
We are seeking a Forward-Deployed Broadcast / Streaming Engineer to work directly with clients on designing, deploying, and supporting live streaming workflows.
In this highly hands-on, client-facing role, you will configure and optimise live video pipelines, support real-time broadcasts, and ensure high-quality delivery for global live events including sports and entertainment.
You will act as both a technical advisor and live operations engineer—bridging customer needs with engineering execution.
This role requires flexibility for live events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
Client Onboarding & POCs
- Set up and configure proof-of-concept live streaming environments
- Support clients with encoder configuration, network setup, and system requirements
- Deliver onboarding sessions and technical guidance for production readiness
Live Event Support
- Monitor live streams during high-profile broadcasts
- Troubleshoot and resolve streaming issues in real time under production pressure
- Adapt workflows quickly based on live event requirements
Technical Consultation
- Advise clients on streaming protocols including SRT, HLS, RTMP, MPEG-DASH
- Recommend encoder setups and low-latency streaming architectures
- Help design scalable and resilient live streaming workflows
Platform Integration & Automation
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams on client integrations
- Support automation of deployments, scaling, and failover systems
- Improve internal tooling for stream monitoring and reliability
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain clear documentation of client configurations and workflows
- Contribute to troubleshooting guides and best practices
- Provide post-event analysis and performance recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with product and engineering teams to improve live streaming capabilities
- Share client feedback to influence platform development and roadmap
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, live streaming, or media technology
- Strong understanding of streaming protocols (SRT, HLS, RTMP)
- Hands-on experience with encoders and live production workflows
- Ability to diagnose and resolve live streaming issues under pressure
- Comfortable working non-standard hours for live global events
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Must be based in India and able to work remotely
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud media services (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform)
- Background in sports broadcasting or live event production
- Scripting skills (Python or Bash)
- Experience leading POCs or pilot deployments with clients
