Founder's Office – D2C Venture Lead

Location: Indore, Madhya Pradesh (On-site)

Compensation: ₹15–20 LPA + Performance Bonus

Reporting To: Ankit Agrawal

About the Opportunity

Mysore Deep Perfumery House (MDPH), makers of Zed Black, is launching a new-age Indian direct-to-consumer perfume brand built for everyday wear. Designed to be accessible, aspirational, and world-class in quality, the brand aims to serve Indian consumers aged 15–40 through a digital-first model and strong marketplace presence.

What gives us an unfair advantage is our foundation. Backed by more than 34 years of fragrance expertise and a global sourcing network for premium perfume ingredients, we have deep, hands-on capabilities in perfume formulation, traceability, and large-scale manufacturing.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader to work directly with the founders and build this venture from zero to scale. This role combines strategy and execution across branding, product launches, e-commerce, performance marketing, operations, and team building.

Role Overview

This is a true Founder's Office role. You will be the first key hire for this venture and the central executor responsible for translating the founders vision into a scalable consumer business. If you want to run a brand, not just manage a function, this role offers a rare opportunity to build and lead a high-potential business from day one.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Strategy & Execution

  • Translate the founders vision into detailed execution plans and operating roadmaps.
  • Own go-to-market strategy, launch sequencing, and business milestones.
  • Track revenue, profitability, and key business metrics.
  • Present regular reviews with insights, blockers, and action plans.

2. Brand Development & Product

  • Define brand positioning, tone of voice, packaging, and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with founders on product portfolio, fragrance concepts, and pricing architecture.
  • Coordinate product launches and seasonal campaigns.

3. D2C & Marketplace Management

  • Set up and manage the Shopify D2C website.
  • Launch and scale on Amazon, Nykaa, Myntra, Flipkart, Blinkit, and other relevant platforms.
  • Optimize product pages, conversion funnels, and customer experience.
  • Maintain catalogue hygiene, pricing, and inventory visibility.

4. Performance Marketing & Growth

  • Manage agencies and freelancers for Meta Ads, Google Ads, and influencer collaborations.
  • Track and improve CAC, ROAS, AOV, LTV, retention, and return rates.
  • Run experiments on creatives, offers, landing pages, and growth campaigns.
  • Build the annual and monthly marketing calendar.

5. Operations & Supply Chain

  • Coordinate with MDPH manufacturing, procurement, and operations teams.
  • Set up fulfilment, inventory management, 3PL logistics, and customer support systems.
  • Create SOPs to ensure scalable and efficient operations.
  • Manage vendor and technology relationships.

6. Team Building & Leadership

  • Identify hiring needs and recruit talent across e-commerce, marketing, and operations.
  • Establish clear ownership, KPIs, and accountability.
  • Build a culture of speed, ownership, and execution excellence.

7. Founder's Office Coordination

  • Act as the central point of coordination across marketing, operations, sales, and customer experience.
  • Ensure seamless execution and alignment with the founders strategic priorities.

Ideal Candidate

  • 3–5 years of experience in D2C, e-commerce, FMCG, or consumer startup environments.
  • Proven track record of owning brand or business outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify and Indian marketplaces.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and performance metrics.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets and dashboards.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and lead teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional ownership.
  • Willing to work full-time from Indore.

  • Experience in beauty, personal care, fragrance, or lifestyle categories.
  • Experience launching a brand from scratch (0 to 1).
  • Personal passion for fragrance, grooming, or fashion.
  • Network with creators, influencers, or stylists in the lifestyle and beauty space.
