Job Role - Brand Manager / Brand Strategist
Location - Mumbai, India | Full-time | In-person
We're looking for a strategic and detail-driven Brand Manager to own and govern how Emkay shows up across every platform and touchpoint. You'll be responsible for developing the brand book, ensuring consistent execution of the brand identity across the organisation, planning and running campaigns, and overseeing our social media presence.
You'll work closely with internal teams like content, design, digital, business as well as any external agencies and partners, acting as the central authority on all things brand. The right person has strong strategic instincts, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to bring clarity and consistency to a complex, multi-business organisation.
What you will do
Brand Strategy & Governance
- Act as the custodian of the Emkay brand — defining, documenting, and governing how the brand is expressed across all internal and external communication.
- Build and own the Emkay brand book: brand identity guidelines, tone of voice, visual standards, messaging frameworks, and usage rules across formats and channels.
- Review and approve brand-related communication and design outputs across teams, ensuring consistent and accurate representation of the brand.
- Develop systems, templates, and checklists that make it easy for teams across the organisation to execute on-brand, without compromising quality.
- Proactively identify gaps or inconsistencies in brand communication and work with relevant teams to address them.
- Evolve the brand playbook over time as the business grows and market context shifts.
Brand Execution & Campaigns
- Plan and execute brand campaigns across channels — digital, print, events, and internal communication — ensuring coherence with the overall brand strategy.
- Translate brand strategy into clear, actionable creative briefs for internal teams and external partners.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across design, content, digital marketing, and business teams to bring campaigns to life effectively and on time.
- Maintain a repository of approved brand assets and templates for use across the organisation.
- Audit existing brand materials on an ongoing basis and manage a roadmap for keeping all touchpoints current and aligned.
Social Media Oversight
- Oversee Emkay's social media presence, ensuring all output is consistent with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual identity.
- Oversee content team to align social media output with the broader brand narrative and campaign calendar.
- Monitor platform performance and brand representation across channels, flagging inconsistencies and driving continuous improvement.
- Stay current on platform trends and competitor activity to ensure the brand remains contemporary and differentiated.
Internal Brand Advocacy
- Drive internal adoption of the brand — run workshops, training sessions, and onboarding processes so that every team understands and takes pride in representing the brand correctly.
- Build a culture of brand-consciousness across the organisation.
Agency & Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external creative, digital, and print agencies.
- Set clear briefs, maintain quality standards, and ensure all outsourced work meets brand requirements.
Who you are
- 5-6+ years of experience in branding/marketing
- Strong understanding of visual identity, tone of voice, and multi-channel brand execution
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing external creative and digital agencies
- Experience in managing brand refresh projects
- AI-savvy. Actively uses AI tools to streamline workflows, accelerate creative production, and optimise campaign execution; keeps pace with how these tools are evolving and brings that thinking into the team
