Job Description

Job Purpose

Provide data, analysis, and reports on the performance of apparel brands and business units. Deliver monthly MIS dockets for top management and corporate, coordinate Planning & Budgeting (P&B) for T&A, support quarterly decks for the business, and generate other ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.

The business is defined by iconic brands like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, and People, operating through 1200+ stores and 850+ multi-brand outlets.

Key challenges include:

  • Driving cross-functional integration for data preparation and analysis.
  • Maintaining high accuracy in numbers used by top-level stakeholders, including investors.
  • Keeping up-to-date with evolving regulations in accounting, taxation, and finance.
  • Managing tight deadlines and urgent ad hoc requirements with consistent quality.
  • Adapting to the evolving business environment with faster product cycles and more complex supply chains.
  • Ensuring manufacturing operations remain profitable amid high cost pressures, competitive sourcing models, and changing product demands.

Key Result Areas

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare brand-wise financials with variance analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Track and help manage spend within budget norms.
  • Develop dashboards for key brand deliverables and provide timely, accurate insights.

Financial Planning

  • Prepare the brand's annual operating plan and mid-month P&L reports.
  • Coordinate with brand/channel/department heads for budget inputs.
  • Support the BRC and Chairman's presentations.
  • Submit updated forecasts based on business environment changes.

Retail Expansion & Operational Review

  • Develop retail performance decks with detailed metrics.
  • Analyze retail costs at a granular level and support cost-saving initiatives.

Sales, Marketing & Sellex Analysis

  • Provide deep analysis of NSV and volume across sub-brands, channels, regions, and stores.
  • Analyze discount schemes, promotions, and their financial impact.
  • Develop market scheme trackers and monitor budget adherence.

Pricing, Inventory & Other Strategic Inputs

  • Track PC to MRP ratios across sub-brands.
  • Conduct discount analysis and approve secondary discounts.
  • Evaluate new store proposals for Retail and Departmental Stores.

Job Worker Management

  • Reconcile inventory and financial records at regular intervals.
  • Maintain and update compliance with statutory requirements.
