Job Description

The Branch Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, customer acquisition, and customer retention while ensuring cost efficiency through defined processes. The role focuses on liability generation, enhancement of the deposit pool, cross-selling of banking and third-party products, branch administration, and strict regulatory compliance. The Branch Manager leads the branch team to achieve business targets while delivering high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Sales, Revenue & Customer Acquisition

  • Drive revenue generation through customer acquisition, retention, and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Focus on liability generation with strong emphasis on CASA (Current Account & Savings Account) growth.
  • Enhance the deposit pool by acquiring and deepening relationships with customers.
  • Sell non-deposit products including Mutual Funds, insurance products, and other fee-based offerings.
  • Achieve cross-selling targets progressively across customer segments.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers to improve wallet share and loyalty.

Branch Operations & Performance Management

  • Oversee daily branch operations to ensure smooth functioning and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage branch profitability, balance sheet growth, and cost efficiency.
  • Track daily productivity, book movement, and performance metrics to meet business targets.
  • Ensure upkeep and maintenance of the branch premises and ATM facilities.
  • Ensure safety and security of bank and customer assets, including cash management and documentation.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the branch team to achieve sales and service goals.
  • Onboard new staff and ensure clear role definition and accountability.
  • Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance reviews to enhance team capability.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, customer centricity, and continuous improvement.

Compliance, Risk & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with bank policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with fraud management teams within the cluster to mitigate operational risks.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory reporting standards are met.

Strategic & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute branch-level strategies aligned with the bank's overall business objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of MIS (Management Information System) reports.
  • Monitor branch performance and implement corrective actions where required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Relevant experience in branch banking, sales, and operations
  • Prior experience in managing a bank branch preferred
