Branch Credit Manager

We are seeking a Branch Credit Manager to evaluate borrower creditworthiness and underwrite credit proposals for a branch. You will be responsible for managing the credit portfolio to optimize profitability and minimize risk, while ensuring compliance with all internal and regulatory guidelines. This role requires a professional who can build strong customer relationships, prepare and present credit reports to senior management, and lead a team if applicable.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Credit Assessment and Underwriting: Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers, analyze their financial and credit information, and make data-driven decisions within defined limits.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor the credit portfolio to manage risk, track borrower creditworthiness, identify early warning signals, and develop strategies to improve asset quality.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal policies, lending guidelines, and all regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor credit risk policies and maintain accurate documentation.
• Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, handle inquiries, and collaborate with sales and operations teams.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present comprehensive credit reports and analyses to senior management.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team, providing guidance and training on all credit-related matters (if applicable).

Skills Required:

• Proven experience in credit assessment and underwriting.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating borrower creditworthiness and financial information.
• Expertise in portfolio management, including risk mitigation and asset quality improvement.
• In-depth knowledge of lending guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills.
• Experience in preparing and presenting credit reports.

QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
