Job Description

Role/ Responsibility:

  • Bank Reconciliations - Conduct bank reconciliations for bond-related cash flows, ensuring accurate matching of interest payments, principal receipts, and trade settlements between bank statements and accounting records. High-volume, routine reconciliations with minimal complexity

  • Asset Reconciliations - Perform asset reconciliation for bond portfolios, ensuring accurate alignment between internal accounting systems, custodial records, and trade data, with timely resolution of discrepancies related to interest, principal, and settlement activities.

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Generate balance sheet and P&L reports using Prologue Financials and/or QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and completeness for client reporting.

  • Bond Accounting Activities: Accurate posting of journal entries related to bond transactions (interest income, amortization, pay-downs, and realized gains/losses)

  • Variance Analysis: Identify and explain variances in reconciliations and financial reports, and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, streamline workflows, and improve data integrity in bond accounting processes.

Qualifications/Required Background

  • Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field.
  • Accounting certification such as Chartered Accountant / CPA / ACCA
  • At least three years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, asset reconciliations
  • Hands-on experience in preparing and posting journal entries (JEs) across multiple entities
  • Experience in building financial statements using trial balances and ledgers
  • Specialized knowledge in bond accounting is highly desirable.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Prologue is a plus.
  • Expert level skill in Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and financial stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and collaborate internally and externally.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
