- A very good knowledge in designing a bogie with respect to locomotive, trailer coach or the main line Coaches.
- Hands on experience in designing aggregates of a bogie like the bogie frame, selection of suspension systems with both coil springs/pneumatic types, wheel and axles and a suitable brake system considering the speed, comfort level of the product, defined in the technical specification.
- Ability to perform a weight assessment on assemblies, aggregates and installations
- Ability to design the geometrical architecture of an equipment/ sub system and to optimize installation issues., preferably on train/rolling stock
- Ability to define Functional Dimensioning requirements (operation, aesthetics, assembly, disassembly).
- Ability to define adjustment principles and clearance make-up.
- Ability to calculate a stack-up analysis in coherence with manufacturing capabilities.
- Ability to analyze manufacturing non conformity and to validate a back-up solution.
- Have understandingfor product costs on a technical solution
- Able to define fasteners and joint design
- Good knowledge of drawing rules and GDT&Tusing relevant standards
- Hands-on experienceof CAD tools like Unigraphics and PLM platform like Teamcenterto create and validate 3D and 2D
- Able to perform basic calculation on all type of mechanical assemblies & analyze results.
Able to translate and finalize the requirement depending on the customer requirements
- Thorough knowledge of welding technology and designing weld joints, bolted joints with respect to the fabrication of platform/chassis, cab, structures and Bogie is essential
- Good knowledge of material properties, heat treatment methods and surface coating solutions.
- Analyze existing designs of high volume Alternators / Traction motors for Improvement in manufacturing processes to reduce cost.
- Redesign of High volume Alternator and Motor, Main Housings(Stator Frame), End housings, Bearing caps, Rotor Yokes.
