Role: BMS Application Engineering Lead
Experience: 4+ years
Location: Noida, India (Work from Office)
Travel: Travel to customer locations is expected as required during integration, trials, and pilots.
Role Summary
You will own end-to-end BMS solution delivery for customer programsfrom application development and configuration to integration and validation, debugging, and field support. You will work closely with firmware and hardware teams, and act as the primary technical interface with customers to ensure stable deployments in real-world conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own BMS application integration and deployment across customer programs (development testing production field).
- Develop, configure, tune, and validate Simulink (Stateflow) based BMS application (states, protections, charge/discharge behavior).
- Manage, mentor, and drive execution for a team of Solution/Application Engineers (task planning, technical guidance, reviews, capability building, and delivery accountability).
- Own customer management from a technical standpoint: act as primary interface, lead integration discussions, manage expectations, provide regular technical updates, and drive closure during escalations/trials.
- Support vehicle-level integration including CAN communication, diagnostics, DBC mapping, and system bring-up.
- Analyze logs, CAN traces, and test data to drive structured root-cause analysis (RCA) and closure.
- Translate customer requirements into clear technical inputs (specs, calibration needs, integration steps) for internal teams.
- Coordinate with firmware, algorithm, hardware, testing, and manufacturing teams to close issues end-to-end.
- Support customer trials/pilots and handle field escalations with clear ownership and communication.
- Ensure solution stability through validation mindset, regressions checks, and quality gates.
Must-have Skills
- Strong fundamentals in embedded systems and system-level debugging.
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink (Stateflow) and model-based development.
- Verification and validation methods in MBD.
- Good understanding of BMS fundamentals: state machines, protections, charging/discharging, fault handling.
- Knowledge of CAN communication and comfort with message-level debugging using traces/logs.
- Structured problem-solving approach and strong RCA capability.
- Customer-facing communication skills: ability to run technical discussions, manage escalations, and align stakeholders.
- Team leadership/management: ability to guide engineers via mentoring, reviews, and execution rigor.
- Ownership mindset, positive attitude, and strong cross-functional communication.
- Understanding of EV architecture and components (BMS, chargers, telematics, etc.).
Good-to-have Skills
- Exposure to automotive standards/protocols: ISO 26262, AUTOSAR concepts, J1939, UDS diagnostics, etc.
- Familiarity with tools like CANoe/CANalyzer or equivalent CAN/log analysis setups.
What We're Looking For (Mindset)
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail for reliable, safety-critical systems.
- Collaboration across firmware/algorithms/hardware/testing/customer teams.
- Accountability across the solution lifecycle, including field support when required.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in complex real-world system behavior.
