Job Description

Job Overview:

The Blade Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring that production targets are met, safety standards are followed, and the shop is efficiently running. This role requires leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team of machinists and operators to deliver high-quality parts and products within specified timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Leadership:

    • Supervise and direct a team of machinists, operators, and other shop personnel.
    • Assign tasks and ensure proper workflow to meet production deadlines.
    • Monitor employee performance and provide training, coaching, and support as needed.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

  • Production Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that all machinery is operating at peak efficiency.
    • Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as necessary to meet deadlines.
    • Ensure products meet quality standards by performing regular inspections and audits.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, such as machinery malfunctions or quality control problems.

  • Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all team members are properly trained on equipment safety and hazard prevention.
    • Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.

  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure all parts and products produced meet quality specifications and industry standards.
    • Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) department to identify and correct any issues related to production quality.
    • Conduct regular audits of processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
