Job Title: BIOS Firmware Engineer – Memory Initialization & DDR Training
Location: Banglore

About the Role
Krisemi Design Technologies is hiring a BIOS / Firmware Engineer to develop pre-OS BIOS firmware and silicon initialization code for x86 and/or ARM SoCs. You'll work closely with firmware developers, architects, and hardware validation teams on firmware that spans both pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
What You'll Do
- Develop, port, debug, and document core firmware support for DRAM technologies: DDR4, LPDDR4/4x, DDR5, LPDDR5/5x, RDIMM, LRDIMM, 3DS
- Support emulation and simulation teams in the pre-silicon phase to validate memory hardware and firmware
- Work with hardware validation teams to optimize memory signal integrity, performance, and feature support
- Assist with debug from initial power-on through full feature functionality
- Build custom memory firmware features for internal and external customers
- Coordinate with technical leads and geographically distributed teams to meet milestones
Must-Have Skills
- Strong low-level C programming and debugging for embedded systems
- Exposure to simulation and/or emulation platforms
- Familiarity with JEDEC, SPD data, I2C/I3C, ECC, mode registers, self-refresh, and DDR4/5, LPDDR4/4x/5/5x, UDIMM/RDIMM/LRDIMM/3DS
- Knowledge of DRAM initialization and training algorithms, memory timings, addressing, and overclocking
- Experience debugging memory initialization and training issues
Good to Have
- Understanding of the firmware development cycle for pre-si and post-si SoC designs
- Root-causing complex failures at IP, subsystem, and system level
- Board, processor, or ASIC bring-up experience
- Hardware/software interface debugging using JTAG and source-level debuggers
- Git/Gerrit experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
