Job Description

Designation: Biomedical Engineer Department: Biomedical Engineering Location: Dr. Kamakshi Memorial Hospital, Pallikaranai, Chennai Job Summary Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and proper functioning of medical equipment to ensure patient safety and uninterrupted hospital operations. Roles and Responsibilities Install, maintain, inspect, and repair medical equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of medical devices as per schedule. Attend equipment breakdowns and coordinate with service engineers/vendors for repairs. Maintain equipment service records, maintenance logs, and calibration reports. Ensure medical equipment complies with hospital safety standards and applicable regulations. Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure the proper functioning of equipment. Monitor equipment performance and report technical issues to the concerned authority. Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, and user training. Maintain biomedical equipment inventory and warranty/AMC/CMC records. Support hospital accreditation requirements, including NABH documentation related to biomedical equipment management. Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering. Diploma in Biomedical Engineering may be considered based on experience and hospital requirements. Experience 0–3 years of experience in hospital biomedical equipment maintenance preferred. Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also apply. Required Skills Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of medical equipment maintenance and safety. Good communication and coordination skills. Documentation and record-maintenance skills. Ability to work with multiple hospital departments. Preferred Candidate Candidates with experience in a multispecialty hospital and knowledge of preventive maintenance, calibration, and NABH documentation will be preferred.
