Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Biology Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction for AS & A Level students. The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire students to achieve outstanding academic results while developing critical thinking and scientific inquiry skills
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging AS & A Level Biology lessons.
- Teach according to Cambridge International or Edexcel curriculum requirements.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, practical investigations, and technology to enhance learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Assessment & Student Progress
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare students for AS & A Level examinations through structured revision and exam-focused practice.
- Monitor academic progress and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
Curriculum & Academic Excellence
- Ensure syllabus completion within prescribed timelines.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, and assessment materials.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes and examination board requirements.
- Participate in curriculum planning and departmental meetings.
Student Support
- Provide academic mentoring and guidance.
- Support students in practical work, coursework, and university preparation where applicable.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in staff development and training programs.
- Contribute to school events, science fairs, and extracurricular activities.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or recognized teaching qualification preferred.
- Cambridge/Edexcel AS & A Level teaching certification or experience is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in AS & A Level Biology.
- Experience with Cambridge or Edexcel curricula preferred.
- Proven track record of strong student results.
