Biology Lab Assistant

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for a Laboratory Assistant at SRM University-AP, located in Amaravati. The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for maintaining and operating laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control of experiments, preparing and organizing laboratory activities, and providing technical and operational support to faculty and students. Additional duties include documenting results, maintaining inventory, and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

Laboratory Work:

· Priorly requesting the faculty regarding the practical for the upcoming session to the students and helping the faculty to get regents arranged and preparing all the requirements for all Lab Sessions.

· Will issue the components and collect them from students systematically to minimize the damage

· If damaged connecting wires soldering the wires if student gets error during performing experiments he/she calls us to clear the errors and make them get result.

· In Lab secession will be started then technical support to teaching staff as well as students se to help the students for circuit connection for smooth running of the Lab.

· Helping students while performing experiments and projects.

Filling Documents:

· Maintaining records of the documents regarding Purchase orders, Goods Receipts that's being processed from department will be submitted to concerned department.

· Regular maintenance of Logbooks and Equipment registers.

· Weekly Logbooks maintenance of equipment assigned to students/scholars.

Departmental Works:

· Being a part of day-to-day department work like duly following the purchase order getting documents done from concerned authorities and as a team member working along with colleagues when needed.

University Duties:

· Attending different duties assigned from university end the Examination duty. Admissions duty.

· NAAC Accreditation Work.

· Bus in charge duty.

Lab Maintenance:

· Physical maintenance like opening & closing lab

· Maintaining lab in neat within time. and tidy condition.

· Whenever there are issues with the equipment, contacting service experts and resolving the issues.

Qualifications:

M. Sc in Biology from a recognized university or institution.

Skills:

Strong understanding about biological concepts and testing procedures.
