The Marine Department of COWI India is undertaking projects from both international and domestic markets. It offers a comprehensive range of consulting services related to the development of Ports, Harbours, Coastal and Marine structures, and Heavy civil infrastructure etc.


In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with the Head of the Section. Your primary task in our team will be the production of high-quality 2D models in Auto CAD and BIM Models in Civil 3D, for marine structures including piled jetties, retaining structures like diaphragm walls, sheet pile walls, embankments, steel structures, breakwaters, and revetments etc.


The ideal candidate will have a solid background in civil infrastructure design with practical expertise in AutoCAD & Civil 3D and will be responsible for developing detailed designs and drawings for a variety of projects including Corridor modelling, Landscape modelling, Earth work analysis, roads, BOQ, Data shortcuts and Grading optimization.


On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Develop detailed civil engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with MicroStation knowledge considered an advantage.
  • Prepare grading plans, alignments, earthwork calculations, utility layouts, and detailed construction drawings.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and managers to convert conceptual designs into accurate technical deliverables.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and client requirements while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and support preparation of BOQs, design reports, and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members when required.

Furthermore, you have:


Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 8+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in marine and infrastructure projects.

  • Solid understanding of BIM workflows with experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation 2D/3D, and AutoCAD for civil drafting and modelling activities.
  • Familiarity with BIM and coordination tools such as Navisworks, InfraWorks, and Revit is an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of engineering standards and codes including IRC, IS Codes, AASHTO, and British Standards.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and time management skills with a detail-oriented approach to delivering high-quality project outputs.
