Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled
BIM Engineer II – Structural Steel Modeller & Detailer with
2–4 years of experience in structural steel detailing and BIM modeling. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing accurate 3D steel models, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings using industry-leading software such as
Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, SDS/2, or SolidWorks. The role involves collaborating with structural engineers, fabricators, and project teams to deliver high-quality detailing for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, SDS/2, or SolidWorks.
- Prepare General Arrangement (GA) Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Part Drawings, Erection Drawings, and Shop Drawings.
- Generate and verify Bills of Materials (BOM), NC files, and fabrication reports.
- Prepare detailed steel connection drawings in accordance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with Structural Engineers, Architects, Fabricators, and Project Teams to resolve design and detailing issues.
- Review structural drawings, design documents, and specifications before modeling.
- Perform model coordination and clash detection using BIM tools where applicable.
- Ensure all models and drawings comply with client standards, fabrication requirements, and industry codes.
- Maintain model quality, documentation, revision history, and version control.
- Support project delivery by meeting quality standards and project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in Structural Steel Modeling and Detailing.
- Experience working on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures, Advance Steel, SDS/2, or SolidWorks.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of structural steel detailing standards and fabrication practices.
- Experience in preparing GA Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Part Drawings, Shop Drawings, and Erection Drawings.
- Knowledge of structural steel connections and fabrication workflows.
- Ability to generate and review Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality in modeling and documentation.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Skills (Good To Have)
- Experience working on US, UK, or International Structural Steel Projects.
- Knowledge of Navisworks for BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Familiarity with Revit Structure and BIM workflows.
- Exposure to Dynamo or automation tools.
- Understanding of LOD Standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
- Knowledge of prefabrication and modular construction processes.
