YD Design is looking for a BIM Coordinator with 6+ years of experience, specifically someone who has worked on architectural projects with relevant hands-on involvement in design development in the past 2–3 years. This role is ideal for someone who can bridge design intent and technical delivery, while driving BIM excellence across projects.
As we grow our Bangalore studio, you will play a key role in leading BIM coordination, supporting design teams from concept through construction, and establishing robust BIM practices within the firm.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead BIM workflows, standards, and model management across multidisciplinary (Architecture, Structure, MEP) project teams.
- Contribute to early-stage design and concept development, supporting teams with modelling, design studies, and constructability inputs.
- Set up and manage BIM models, including templates, families, parameters, and project-specific standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, BEPs, and project documentation in line with industry best practices.
- Conduct clash detection, model federation, and coordination reviews, driving issue resolution.
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings with internal teams and external consultants; track progress and risks.
- Review models and drawings to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with agreed workflows and standards.
- Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) using Autodesk Docs / BIM 360, ensuring proper version control and data integrity.
- Extract schedules, quantities, and data from models to support project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency (Dynamo, plugins, workflows).
- Mentor junior team members, provide training, and support overall team upskilling.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, or related AEC field.
- 6+ years of BIM experience, with strong exposure to architectural projects and recent involvement in design/concept stages.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Strong understanding of BIM standards, LODs, and ISO 19650 / PAS 1192 frameworks.
- Proven experience in multidisciplinary coordination and managing project deliverables.
- Ability to communicate design and technical information clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Experience working on large-scale or complex projects (mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, etc.) is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of automation tools (Dynamo / scripting) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
